What is an eSIM?▼
An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM that lets you activate a cellular data plan without needing a physical SIM card. It's built into most modern smartphones.
Is my device compatible?▼
Most iPhones from XS onward, Samsung Galaxy S20+, Google Pixel 3+, and many other modern phones support eSIM. Visit our device compatibility page to check.
How do I install my eSIM?▼
After purchase, scan the QR code we email you, or use the one-tap install link. You can also enter the activation details manually in your phone's cellular settings.
Connection & Data
My eSIM is installed but I have no data▼
Make sure Data Roaming is turned on (Settings → Cellular → your eSIM → Data Roaming). Also set your eSIM as the Cellular Data line.
What speeds can I expect?▼
Wayve eSIMs connect at full 4G LTE speeds on local carrier networks. Actual speeds depend on local coverage and network conditions.
Can I use my eSIM for calls?▼
Wayve eSIMs are data-only. Use WhatsApp, FaceTime, Skype, or other VoIP apps for calls and messaging over your data connection.
Billing & Plans
When does my plan start?▼
Your plan validity period begins when you first connect to a local network at your destination, not when you purchase or install the eSIM.
Can I get a refund?▼
Unused eSIMs (never connected to a network) can be refunded within 30 days of purchase. Contact support with your order details.
Do you offer top-ups?▼
Yes! If you run out of data, you can purchase additional data through the Wayve app or contact support.
Troubleshooting
QR code won't scan▼
Make sure your screen brightness is high and there's no glare. Try the manual installation method instead — enter the SM-DP+ address and activation code in Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM → Enter Details Manually.
eSIM not appearing after install▼
Restart your phone after installation. Go to Settings → Cellular to verify the eSIM plan appears. If not, try reinstalling using the manual method.
Slow or intermittent connection▼
Toggle Airplane Mode on and off. Check that Data Roaming is enabled. Try selecting a different network manually in Settings → Cellular → Network Selection.
Privacy & Security
Is my data secure?▼
Yes. eSIM activation uses industry-standard encryption. We don't store your payment details — all payments are processed securely through Stripe.
What data do you collect?▼
We collect your email address for eSIM delivery and basic usage analytics. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Managing Your eSIM
Can I delete and reinstall my eSIM?▼
No — once deleted, an eSIM cannot be reinstalled. You would need to purchase a new plan. Only delete your eSIM after your trip is complete.
Can I use my eSIM on multiple devices?▼
No. Each eSIM is linked to a single device. You'll need separate eSIMs for each device.
How do I switch between my SIMs?▼
Go to Settings → Cellular. You can choose which line to use for cellular data. Keep your primary SIM for calls/texts and use the Wayve eSIM for data.
